They are at risk of contracting HIV-AIDS

HIV-AIDS is still the most frightening specter of the disease because it has not found a cure. Various risk factors can increase the chance you are infected with the virus known as HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) is. A person infected with the virus in the next few years may experience AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome), to make the condition of the patient is getting weak and difficult to fight infections and complications of various diseases.

The number of risk factors may not be able to be avoided completely one by one, but at least we can strive to reduce that risk by performing self-protection in order not to be infected with the deadly virus. Here are some of the risk factors of HIV/AIDS is most common in the community:
  1. Sexual intercourse (vaginal, anal and oral) without a condom, with someone who is infected with HIV or those whose status is infected with HIV but do not you know.
  2. Sexual promiscuity/Having sex with a commercial sex worker/homosexual.
  3. Sexual intercourse under the influence of drugs and alcohol, when they lost their consciousness can have sexual intercourse beyond reasonable unprotected (condom).
  4. Types of injection drug use alternately or have sex with drug users (injecting) were infected with HIV.
  5. Using a needle for piercing (earrings) or tattoos that are not sterile.
  6. Having a sexually transmitted diseases ( STDs ), such as herpes, chlamydia, syphilis, or gonorrhea. STDs can cause changes in tissue that make HIV transmission easier.
  7. Have HIV-infected mothers before the baby is born.
  8. Giving a blood transfusion or received a blood transfusion products.
The nearness of the risk factors of HIV-AIDS with us, so naturally we must be vigilant and careful. Many ways you can do to Protect Ourselves in order to avoid the HIV virus. The disease can be transmitted through blood, semen, vaginal fluids, or through breast milk infected with HIV, the following ways are the most important steps taken to reduce the risk of transmission of HIV-AIDS:
  1. Use a latex condom when they wanted to have sex.
  2. Do not share needles, or equipment used to prepare the injectable drug. Because of the HIV virus can live in the syringe for more than one month or more.
  3. If you would like to attach earrings or a tattoo, choose a professional place with good facilities and sterile.
  4. Do not share toothbrushes or razors.
  5. For those of you who are pregnant or planning a pregnancy but the risk of contracting HIV. So be sure to consult your doctor first to be tested for HIV. If you are HIV-positive then do counseling and treatment to prevent HIV so as not to infect the fetus.
  6. Do not breast-feed if you are HIV positive.
  7. Doing the tradition of circumcision/circumcision for men as shown to reduce the risk of HIV-AIDS.
If you are someone who may be at high risk for contracting HIV, it is important for you to do the HIV test. There are many places you can visit for testing can be done immediately and HIV-related counseling. The sooner the disease is detected, it will be the smaller your risk for developing AIDS. With proper handling and treatment of the patient with HIV will have more time to be able to continue to survive like we are healthy.
